Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections
Your own biology — concentrated and redeployed to repair tendons, ligaments, and joints from within.
What is PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy uses a concentrated sample of your own blood — processed to contain 9–12× the normal platelet concentration — and injects it precisely into the injured area. Platelets carry powerful growth factors that signal the body to begin deep tissue repair. Instead of masking inflammation with steroids, PRP repairs the actual source of pain.
Dr. Katz uses the FDA-approved EMCYTE system for PRP processing and performs every injection under ultrasound guidance for precision targeting — ensuring the growth factors reach exactly the right tissue.

Conditions Treated with PRP
- Achilles Tendon Injuries — partial tears, chronic tendinosis, insertional pain
- Plantar Fasciitis — chronic heel and arch pain unresponsive to conservative care
- Ankle Ligament Injuries & Sprains — accelerated healing for ligament damage
- Tendinitis — any chronic tendon inflammation in the foot or ankle
- Arthritis — osteoarthritis pain relief through joint regeneration
- Bone Injuries — stimulate healing in non-unions or slow-healing fractures
Recovery & Results
After a PRP injection, patients should limit weight-bearing activity for 3–7 days. Dr. Katz creates a personalized recovery protocol that may include physical therapy, stretching regimens, and nutritional supplementation to maximize healing. Most patients begin experiencing meaningful improvement within 4–8 weeks as the tissue remodels.
